What is your favorite brand and why?

It is very cliché and I wish I had something more unique, but Steve Jobs era Apple is still my favorite brand. Steve Jobs was such a visionary and his ability to lead innovation and be so far ahead of his time is beyond inspiring.

Also, their ads during the Lee Clow, Chiat Day era were incredible. The “1984” TV spot is still one of the all-time best and the launch of the iPod was genius.

What sparked your interest in marketing?

I first became interested in marketing after college when I decided I wanted a job that fell within a more traditional corporate structure but also had a fun and exciting element to it.

At that time, I did not know that advertising agencies even existed! I got lucky when a friend referred me to a local advertising agency where I landed a job and began my career. I fell in love instantly. I knew that this was what I wanted to do with my life. A year later Jacques and I connected and the rest is history.

Word on the street is that you are an incredible musician. What is your favorite type of music to play?

I'm very shy about sharing my music, but it is definitely something that is really important to me. I play guitar, sing, and write songs. I have a little Taylor Swift in me (although I wish I was half as good a songwriter as her!), I process life’s journey through song.

I usually play folk, indie rock. Think Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver and U2 mixed together.

If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, what would it be?

I loved the TV show How I Met Your Mother! I always thought it would’ve been fun to be a part of the main friend group in that show.

Also, it is tough to beat a good comic-book movie. So, as long as I could be one of the super heroes then I would love to be a part of the X-Men universe or Guardians of the Galaxy!

What words of wisdom would you pass onto your childhood self?

I would’ve encourage my childhood self to have more confidence. It took me years to figure out that most people don’t really know what is going on and are just doing their best to enjoy life and make good decisions. People respond well to confidence and the ability to make a decision. It doesn’t mean you are always right, but that you at least have the courage to lead and move forward.
